If you are considering flying to Bangkok for pelvic floor, incontinence, prolapse or postpartum treatment, these are the questions you need answered before you book anything — including the cases where we would tell you not to come.
A first visit plus any same-trip treatment usually takes 1–7 days. The range depends on what the assessment finds, not on what you booked.
At the short end: many non-surgical treatments for stress incontinence, mild prolapse, vaginal dryness and postpartum pelvic floor weakness can be assessed and started in a single visit, and most involve no downtime — you can continue your day afterwards. At the longer end: if the assessment shows you need imaging, urodynamic testing, bloodwork or a surgical opinion, those take additional days and cannot be compressed safely.
You will be told the expected number of days after the assessment and before anything is scheduled. If you tell us your symptom and your travel dates by message beforehand, we can usually give you a realistic range before you book flights.
Find your symptom first →Yes. No referral, residency or Thai health insurance is required, and there is no separate process for foreign patients — you book the same way anyone else does.
This includes pelvic organ prolapse, which is one of the most common reasons patients travel here. Prolapse is assessed by examination and staged before any treatment is discussed; mild to moderate cases are frequently managed without surgery, and surgical cases are handled by specialists with fellowship training in pelvic reconstructive surgery.
Bring anything you already have: previous imaging, operative notes, urodynamic results, or a list of medications. It shortens the assessment and sometimes removes the need to repeat a test.
Read the prolapse guide →Yes. Female specialists are available and you can request one when you book — for many patients travelling from abroad this is the deciding factor, so it is worth stating in your first message.
The clinic has eight board-certified specialists. They include Assoc. Prof. Dr. Orawee Chinthakanan (urogynecology, female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery; M.P.H. Emory University, fellowship at Atlanta Urogynecology Associates), Dr. Varisara Chantarasorn (prolapse and incontinence surgery; urogynecology fellowship, University of Sydney), Dr. Apichaya Klaikaew and Dr. Nopwaree Chantawong.
Consultations are conducted in English or Thai. Written enquiries — before you fly — are answered in eight languages, and if you would prefer an interpreter in the room for another language, that can be arranged when you book, with advance notice.
Often yes, but be clear about what you are flying for. Postpartum stress incontinence — leaking when you cough, sneeze, laugh or lift — responds to correct pelvic floor rehabilitation in most women, and correct technique is the part that is hardest to get at home. Many women have been doing Kegels for months using the wrong muscles.
What a trip gives you that a video cannot: an examination that confirms whether the pelvic floor is actually weak or actually too tight (the treatment is opposite), whether there is prolapse or a significant abdominal separation alongside it, and a demonstrated, checked contraction you can then continue at home.
Be aware of one limitation before you book: the clinic does not currently offer scheduled video review after you return home. Follow-up care in your own country is your responsibility, and you will be given full consultation records to take to your own doctor. If ongoing supervised follow-up is essential to you, factor that in.
Read the incontinence guide →The consultation is ฿1,500–3,000 depending on the complexity of your case, plus a ฿300 clinic service fee. That is quoted before anything is decided.
Treatment is quoted separately, after the assessment, once it is known what you actually need. Treatment prices are not published — not to be evasive, but because the honest answer depends on findings, and a number quoted before an examination would be a guess. You will have the figure before you agree to anything, and you are free to decline.
Budget for the visit itself as well: flights, accommodation near BTS Phrom Phong, and the extra days if investigations are needed. If you are comparing against private care at home, ask us for the assessment cost first and work from there.
See appointment details →Honest answers, because a wasted flight helps nobody:
Do not fly for a symptom that has not been examined at home first if you have bleeding after menopause, bleeding after sex, blood in your urine, fever with pelvic pain, or a rapidly changing lump. Those need assessment where you are, now, not in three weeks in another country.
Reconsider if you need ongoing supervised rehabilitation rather than an assessment plus a course of treatment — because remote follow-up is not currently offered, a condition requiring months of monitored progress is better managed close to home.
Reconsider if your case is likely to need major surgery with a long recovery and you have no support network in Bangkok, or if you cannot extend your stay should the assessment find more than expected.
It is reasonable to message first, describe what you are experiencing, and be told plainly whether the trip is worth making. We would rather say no before you book than after you land.
8th Floor, EM Tower, EMSPHERE, 628 Sukhumvit Road, Khlong Tan, Khlong Toei, Bangkok 10110. Open daily 10:00–19:00.
It is inside the EMSPHERE mall on Sukhumvit, directly at BTS Phrom Phong station and next to EMPORIUM and EMQUARTIER. This is central Sukhumvit — the main hotel, expat and visitor district — so accommodation within a few BTS stops is easy, and you do not need a car or a taxi to reach an appointment.
From Suvarnabhumi Airport: Airport Rail Link to Phaya Thai, then BTS to Phrom Phong (about 60 minutes total).
