When you have leaking or frequency, the single most useful diagnostic tool is not an expensive test — it is a simple record you keep at home for three days. The reason is that what we report to a doctor rarely matches reality: nobody accurately recalls how many times they went, or exactly what they were doing when they leaked.
How to do it. Pick three days of ordinary life, ideally mixing working days and days off. Each time you pass urine, note the time, and the approximate volume if you can. Note the time and type of every drink. Note every leak, with what you were doing — coughing, sneezing, hurrying to the toilet. And note how many times you wake overnight.
Ask whether you need to be seen
Message us with what you are experiencing and we will tell you whether an examination is worth making, and what the appointment involves.
WhatsAppLINEWhat it reveals. Your true daily frequency against the normal benchmark of up to eight times. Which type of leaking you have — pressure-related or urgency-related — which changes the entire treatment path. Which drinks are acting as triggers, often caffeine or carbonated drinks in quantities people underestimate. And the pattern of night-time waking.
Bring it to your first appointment. It consistently shortens the route to an answer, and often reduces how many tests are needed at all.
