Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women globally and in Thailand. With early detection, the 5-year survival rate exceeds 95% — a powerful reason to know your screening schedule. Screening is not about anxiety; it is about catching disease early when treatment is far simpler and outcomes are far better.
General screening recommendations: from age 20, perform monthly self-examination after your period. From age 25–39, see a clinician for clinical breast examination every 1–3 years. From age 40, add mammography every 1–2 years. Women with a strong family history — particularly first-degree relatives with premenopausal breast cancer or known BRCA mutations — should start earlier and may benefit from breast MRI in addition to mammography.
Ask whether you need to be seen
Message us with what you are experiencing and we will tell you whether an examination is worth making, and what the appointment involves.
WhatsAppLINEMammography uses low-dose X-rays to detect lumps too small to feel; the examination takes 10–15 minutes with brief compression. Ultrasound is useful for younger women with dense breast tissue or as an adjunct to mammography. At THE FIT CLINIC we assess your personal risk profile — family history, hormonal factors, breast density — and tailor a screening programme. Timely screening remains one of the highest-yield health investments any woman can make.
